First wife of Charles, Prince of Wales. From her engagement to the Prince of Wales in 1981 until her tragic death in 1997, Diana was a major presence on the world stage, often described as the “world’s most photographed woman” or “The Queen of hearts”.
Signed colour photograph “Diana” in black fountain pen ink to the lower photographer’s mount and dated “1987” in her hand. The 6.5 x 4.75 inch image is inserted into a 10.0 x 8.0 inch photographer’s presentation folder and depicting the Princess seated in a half length pose wearing a pale blue hat as she rides in an open top carriage, the Queen Mother seated alongside her. Some very light, extremely minor age wear to the photographer’s presentation folder, otherwise fine condition. Provenance: The present photograph originates from the property of Philip Somerville (1930-2014) Milliner by Royal Appointment to Queen Elizabeth II. and other members of the Royal family. The hat that Princess Diana is wearing in the present image is one of Somerville’s creations.
